UpTown is an exciting place for all kids!
Welcome to UpTown, the children's ministry at Highlands Church. Our goal is to have kids live with Heaven in mind! We want our kids to consider their thoughts and actions in light of Christ and live in a manner that pleases Him (Col. 1:10). Below we map out the different areas of UpTown.
Highland Park
Newborn through Pre-K
Deep in the heart of downtown we have a beautiful section called Highland Park. Strolling peacefully through the quiet trails, take note of all the precious creations God has made. Our various
nursery and preschool classrooms include flower and critter themes that all small children enjoy. Our babies and toddlers are wondrous creations given to us by a caring God (Matt. 6:26-30).
Skyline District
K-5th grade
As you make your way through UpTown, you see a magnificent skyline. Buildings varying in height and shape line our north hallway. As a ministry team, we recognize that our school-age kids are at different places in their walk with the Lord, and we are trained and committed to help our kids achieve all that God intends for them. The Skyline District is where our teachers lay a firm foundation upon which to build up kids' faith and tell them about God's love (Matt. 7:24-35).
Sunday Programs
For the kids in the Skyline District, we have two exciting programs in place for their continued spiritual growth.
Rush Hour - First hour
Imagine the hustle and bustle of commuters weaving in and out of traffic in an effort to make it to their early morning destination. Our students demonstrate the same enthusiasm during Rush Hour as they praise and worship through a variety of musical styles, multimeda presentations, and drama sketches.
CrossWalk - Second hour
Every town has numerous streets kids can choose to venture down. We believe the safest way to maneuver the streets is to use a crosswalk. UpTown is no different. Through CrossWalk our kids will be encouraged through creatively presented Bible-focused lessons to "stay between the lines" and to make good decisions in their daily lives (Prov. 2:20-22). We encourage all children to participate and learn more about God's Word and the difference it can make in their lives.
Special Programs
D-Days
Providing fun, meaningful, deliberate times of interaction between Dads and their children.
KidSong
Our kids worship and praise choir for grades 1 through 5. They will help lead Rush Hour and will be involved with special events in the adult services.
Special Needs Ministry
We have trained volunteers to provide assistance for those with need to allow your child to integrate into existing children's classes and for those with more severe needs we will have a separate classroom. Click
