A Missions program For Highlands Church
The Pastors and Elders of Highlands Church recognize Christ’s command to evangelize the world. We seek to obey God’s call to “Go into all the world, and preach the Gospel.”
Highlands Church seek to obey God’s call to evangelize the world, by recognize the world, by recognizing that God seeks to reconcile men, women, and children of all cultures, geography’s, languages, ages and races to Himself.
As God leads we purpose to train-up and affirm God’s call on men, women, and youth from our body who have been called out to use their gifts to evangelize locally, in our country, and around the world.
We additionally actively seek to provide all members of our Church with opportunities to see and experience cultures and lifestyles different than our Scottsdale model. We desire that all Highland’s members experience and obtain a “world review,” that shows the dramatic differences in living conditions, faced by Christians living in inner city and foreign cultures.
We seek to generate relationships with Churches and Pastors from foreign and domestic, like minded churches, with the hope of working together to train, disciple, preach the Word, and exchange ideas that lead to more men, women, and children hearing and responding to the Gospel.
We recognize that God called men and women from all locations, nations, races, and cultures to evangelize our world. We seek to affirm the call of God on both domestic, and nationals of other countries, and seek to provide support that provides the greatest and best use of our resources in the evangelism of our world.
Highlands Church will, as funds allow, and as God leads, seek to examine candidates who by calling, lifestyle, preparation, and demonstrated use of their spiritual gifts, desire to serve as missionaries in domestic and foreign lands. Preference will be given to those who have ministered with us, and have been active as members of the body of Highlands. (Click here for our Missions Program).
Candidates desiring to be sent out by Highlands Church should first submit a letter to the Elders of Highlands Church that outlines the candidate’s call, desire, qualifications, and preparation for Missionary service. The Board of Elders will pray, consult with the candidate, and seek God’s will. The Elders will seek to affirm Gods call. If affirmation by all members of the Board of Elders and Pastors is received the candidate will be considered for support as a Highlands Missionary.
Organizations desiring Missionary support from Highlands Church, should also submit in writing a request for support, outlining the need, the organizations strategic plan, statement of faith, and the specific term of support need. The Elders and Pastors of Highlands Church will meet and seek to affirm the need for support. If affirmation from all members of the Board of Elders and Pastors is confirmed support will be given as funds allow.
The leadership of Highlands Church encourages members of all ages to actively participate in evangelistic opportunities. From time to time Highlands will sponsor short term mission activities and projects designed to give members exposure to mission’s activities and cultures. Members of Highlands Church are encouraged to participate, and to actively seek ways they can personally use their spiritual gifts to preach the Word in domestic and foreign venues. Candidates to these short-term missions projects will be asked to submit a letter or give a testimony before and after their service, sharing the impact of the short-term missions project.
In all we do, Highlands Church, it’s Pastors and Elders seek to be faithful to God to equip, train, and send forth those who are called and qualified to preach the Word. We seek to be faithful to our Lord Christ Jesus, who has commanded and equipped us to preach, teach and disciple men and women, here in Scottsdale, across our nation, and around the world.
